Enlightening

I bought this book quite a few years ago for a graduate course in Intersubjectivity. Although, I'm now a working professional, I still go back to this book from time to time. Mitchell and Aron are such amazing authors, and they've compiled this important book on modern relational psychoanalysis. This book has heavily influenced my work, my thinking, and my conceptualization of patients. Psychoanalysis brings up different thoughts for people - some negative in this contemporary world. While this book is rooted in tradition, it is heavily pertinent to today's practice and not just a retelling of the classic tradition. Each chapter brings a new author with wonderful, insightful perspectives on understanding the human experiences and affective realm. It will definitely give you some insight into yourself and others, or at least food for further thought. I don't re-read many texts, but this one is always on my shelf and I won't let anyone borrow it.

This book was an amazing resource to me on relational psychoanalysis and intersubjectivity while working on my doctorate. Contains articles from many of the leaders in this "new" direction: Emmanuel Ghent, Jessica Benjamin, Stephen Mitchell, Stolorow, Aron. . . Really a great resource with each of the articles having a foward by the editors. I would recommend anything that Stephen A. Mitchell is involved in!

Für sich genommen sind die Sprüche gar nicht mal so übel, wenn man es unterlässt die Fragen dazu zu lesen. Die Fragen die zu den Sprüchen dazu gedichtet wurden (denn mn merkt ja schon das krampfhaft versucht wurde zu einem Spruch eine Frage zu finden) sin die Fragen dazu bestenfalls unpassend. Bei den meisten Antworten würde ich den Sprecher für bescheuert halten wenn er mir das auf die angebene Frage antwortet weil es zum Teil völlig aus dem Kontext der Sprache gerissen wurde. Zum Beispiel: Ist das nicht ein Ausschnitt Ihrer Persönlichkeit? steht als Antwort: Ein Dekollete sollte kein optischer Bedienungsladen sein. Ich denke, wäre man konsequent gewesen und hätte statt dem bestehenden Titel es zum Beispiel: 999 Zitate (oder so ähnlich) genannt und die Fragen weggelassen, wäre es noch recht passabel gewesen, aber so ist es einfach meines Erachtens lächerlich.

Oje, ist das Buch schlecht! Das Buch ist wirklich mehr als mies, finde ich jedenfalls, die "cleveren" Antworten, die im Titel angepriesen werden, sind nix anderes als olle Zitate berühmter Leute. Die Zitate sind, zugegeben, manchmal ganz gut, aber eben leider nur manchmal. Der Punkt ist jedoch dabei, dass sie mit den "dummdreisten Alltagsfragen" nichts zu tun haben. Aber auch gar nix. Das Buch unterstützt keinesfalls gekonnte Schlagfertigkeit, besser, man haut das Buch seinem Gesprächspartner einfach ganz fest auf den Kopf, das wäre dann schlagfertiger und der Gegenüber hätte wohl auch mehr davon.

Ich habe mir dieses Buch gekauft und noch nicht einmal vollständig gelesen. Das liegt daran, das ich viel im PC rum serve(chat) und dann mir die richtigen Sprüche zu richtigen Zeit raus suche, es liegt stets neben mir. Es ist ein Buch mit herrlichen Sprüchen, die viel wahres beinhalten. Man muß es gelesen haben und anwenden können. Es bereichtert das eigene Wissen und regt teileise zum Nachdenken an. Die Leute die mich fragen, wo haste nur die Sprüche her, die sind ja immer tiefsinnig, sage ich stets, kauft Euch dieses Buch.

UK Version of Adams' Iron Wolf

This is a nice compilation of stories by Richard Adams. I ordered both this title and "The Iron Wolf" by Mr. Adams only to find that they're both the same book. I suspect the "Unbroken Web" was the UK title for marketing reasons--the title "Iron Wolf" probably had more appeal in the US.

The oral tradition frozen in time

I love this book!

Richard Adams is a wonderful storyteller.
In the Unbroken Web (aka the Iron Wolf) he frames his re-telling of many different classic tales from around the world in the guise of how a story is actually told: starting with people who have time on their hands, a story teller takes up the torch, they create a segue to intrigue the listener, then spinning the yarn.

Er nahm an zahlreichen Lehrgängen und Meisterkursen teil (u.a. German Brass, Euregio Brass Festival, Deutsches Tubaforum e.V.) und hatte zu dieser Zeit auch bei E. Crespo, M. Becquet, J. Sass und S. Pilafian Unterricht. Mehrere solistische Auftritte und Preise in der Bundesrepublik und dem europäischen Ausland dokumentieren eindrucksvoll seine bisherige musikalische Tätigkeit. Nicolas Pfeifle sammelte Orchestererfahrung als Mitglied der Jungen Deutschen Philharmonie, als Praktikant bei den Duisburger Sinfonikern und Stuttgarter Philharmonikern, als Aushilfe im Staatsorchester Stuttgart und von 2002 bis 2003 als Solo-Posaunist beim SWR Sinfonieorchester Baden-Baden und Freiburg. Die beiden Solo-CDs Exotenkonzert Vol. 1 (gemeinsam mit Manfred Heidler) und Tango Mortale fanden bei Publikum und Fachpresse großen Anklang. Nicolas Pfeifle studierte Dirigieren im Studiengang Blasorchesterleitung an der Staatlichen Hochschule für Musik Trossingen, das er 2009 mit dem Diplom abschloss. Er dirigierte u.a. das Rundfunk-Blasorchester Leipzig und das Polizeimusikkorps Baden-Württemberg sowie diverse Laien-Orchester. Ferner hat er sich als Lehrer für Posaune, Tenorhorn und Bariton einen Namen gemacht. Seit 2004 ist er Soloposaunist, Quintett-Leiter sowie Registerführer Blech des Polizeimusikkorps Baden-Württemberg und Leiter der Filder-Musik Musikschule.

About the Author
Sam Kohl, the former owner (1965-2000) of the New York School of Dog Grooming, has been active in all phases of the pet industry since 1949. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of the Pet Industry, the American Dog Groomers Guild, Ltd., and the International Dog Education Association in Japan.

Mr. Kohl judged the very first national dog grooming contest in the United States. He represented the grooming industry on the New York City Board of Education Animal Advisory Commission.

He established the AARONCO Pet Products Company in 1987, publishing books on dog and cat grooming, boarding kennel management, as well as designing and marketing innovative tools to improve the life of the groomer/stylist.

Grooming Service Coordinator for a major pet company

I have used this book for many many years and rely heavily upon it for all of our groomers. The information is precise and the drawings are accurate. Kohl and Goldstein's book should be in the hands of ANY groomer wanting to advance their all-breed grooming skills. It should NEVER be 4-6 weeks out of print.

Did not send it in the best of shape

The book is kind of old and out dated as far as breed hair cuts go. The ppl that sent it to me used! Did not send it in the best of shape, certainly not worth the money. Especially when he paid 3.00 dollars for it at the salvation army!

A Useless Book for me

I am mainly interested in learning to groom and particularly interested in learning about clippers. This 416 page book has only 30 pages of general grooming information and it is superficial. It has less than 3 pages on clippers which was also superficial. If you already know how to groom and want information on specific breeds this book might be useful. For me it is totally useless.
