Yes, but rather eccentric decisions by Arden

The play is a good example of Fletcher's talents yes. Yet its real merit is its riffing on Shakespeare's late romance. But I must say it is odd, to say the least, that the good people at Arden are publishing much second (or third) rate material from the Jacobean era while overlooking such masterpieces as "The Revenger's Tragedy," "The Alchemist," "Volpone," "The Changling," "Women Beware Women," "The Malcontent" and the list goes on. The only noteworthy plays that have been published under the "Early Modern" moniker are "The Duchess of Malfi," "The Spanish Tragedy," and "Tis Pity She's a Whore". Luckily for us there are the good publishers at New Mermaids and Revels who ensure that these excellent plays are kept before the reading (if not the theater going) public. And yes, I know this forum should be for critiques of the text under question; this is a review of the poor publishing practice of Arden - if not here, where? Too, an indication that the public is not buying is the lack of reviews for these texts.

great introduction to art and artists through history

We are currently in the midst of a unit on art with our homeschool coop. The kids had spend the past two weeks learning about the lingo of art and creating fun things. Last week, I was teaching about self-portrait and we learned about Albrecht D�rer who is considered the first artist to make a self-portrait. He actually made four of them while growing up and his first one was at the age of 13 years. Needless to say, I was very please to have the book ART a visual history to show the page on this artist to the kids.

The table of content is divided in different era:

ich höre gern und viele hörbücher und hörspiele. ich habe noch nie so eine schlechte "darstellerin" (leserin) erlebt.sie hastet viel zu schnell und ohne betonung durch den text. hat eine viel zu schrille stimme und ich verstehe den lektor nicht, der diese folge so frei gegeben hat.ich konnte es nicht ertrage und habe das hörbuch nach 30 minuten abgestellt. dementsprechend werde ich mir nun das buch zulegen und hoffe endlich die geschichte zuende zu lesen :-)

As the title says: an introduction

It has all the basic bits that a beginner needs to get started in numerical computation: polynomial approximation, numerical integration, and linear systems. The latter is a real strength, since it offer not just exact techniques (like Gaussian elimination), but iterative techniques including sparse-system special cases and more general conjugate gradient techniques. There isn't much cut&paste code here, but theorems usually appear only as conclusions, not as arguments. The last sections, on iterative solutions of linear systems, give more in the way of concepts than guidance, but a determined reader will find value.

Despite strengths, this book has significant weaknesses. Error analysis is thin, and that's what really sets good analysts ahead of the pack. The book predates wide acceptance of symbolic algebra packages, so it favors Taylor series approximations over the superior but tedious orthogonal polynomials. It notes cache:memory penalties under 1:10, where they're typically over 1:100 today. And its discussion of performance processor architecture barely approaches adequate, even by 1993 standards. That dates back 10 generations of Moore's Law, ten doublings of transistor count or 1000x. That's a lot, and a world with a Blue Gene in it is a very different place.

Still, the basics haven't changed. Despite some obscurity in the later chapters, it's still good for the first few things a numerical programmer needs to know, including a little parallelism awareness. If I were teaching a basic course in scientific computation, it would still be in the running when I went to choose a text.

About the Author
Lisa Godsey, LEED AP, ASID Professional, IDEC, IESNA, is an Instructor of Interior Design at the International Academy of Design and Technology, Chicago and at The Illinois Institute of Art-Chicago, USA. In addition to teaching courses including materials and lighting, Godsey is a practicing interior designer and is a member of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA), and Interior Design Educators Council (IDEC). She serves on the accreditation teams reviewing interior design programs across the US and frequently jurors for the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ).

Informative Book. No pages falling out issues.

This book is a required textbook for my interior design program. The chapters cover topics like paint/wallcoverings, carpet/rugs, window treatments, flooring, wood and more. Each chapter discusses "Key Terms", describes the material, how it is produced and characteristics. This book deals with specifying the materials so there is some discussion of costs, inspection, managing budgets and selection criteria. Each chapter has a specification sample form. Overall, I liked this book and there was a lot of detail. I especially liked the blue boxes that contained helpful tips and hints and "cautionary tales." As a first year student, we did not get into all the chapters, but I felt the ones we covered were in-depth and predominantly well-written. There are a lot of color photographs, which are always welcome. Overall I give this book 4.5 stars.

The material content was excellent which I give a 5 star. . However, the physical book itself just completely came unglued. Each page dislodged itself from the spine. I think very strongly that this is a printing production error as all my classmates had the same problem. the actual product gets no stars. However, I have been assured that returning it will not be a problem.

Are you effing serious?

Besides the fact that this book is in 2 seperate parts (and not 2 stand alone books)... I'm irked. Take a full length novel... Chop 3/4 of it away, and this is what you have. I have no idea how this story ends, I refuse to buy the ending. The story is unrealistic, has barely any chemistry of characters and lack of details to piss me off. I know I'm a stickler for books that are believable, but let's not kid ourselves on this one. #1 There is no mention why two "professional MMA fighters" are going to college, especially when one is 25 years old and still working on his bachelors. #2 Then we have the fact that the two main characters have sex the fourth time they are together in the book (the author makes her seem like a dumb foodie that has her legs open a bunch) . The previous times the characters are together have no chemistry and was so quickly written that it was barely a flirt. #3 My biggest pet peeve, is that the MMA ring does not have ropes like boxing. It's a cage. In the book immediately after a fight the fighter pulls out a case of beer "between the ropes" and then screws on the fighting mat? Why would any MMA arena be empty just after a fight that you could have sex without anybody watching? #4 Natasha loans her dorm room apartment (which she shares with other girls) to her BFF who is a professor so she can have a party in her dorm room with her English department? Come on! Can somebody please proofread this to make sense. Faculty would never have a party till 4am in a dorm room. There is no chemistry, it was written way too quickly barely a short story that somebody wants me to pay more money to finish. I'm done, I'm not going to waste anymore time.

Great new adult romance!

Spent was a such a great new adult romance book! It was a super fast read with a lot of characterization and a super hot romance. I was left needing WAY more! WHERE IS PART TWO?

Tasha was an okay protagonist. She was relateable and her actions are very believable. However, she is definitely the most boring character in comparison to the other fantastic characters this book has. Luke was so hot and gentle and sweet and funny and he was a perfect choice for a love interest. Cameron was so sassy and clever and definitely brought some hilarious comic relief. I love the unique relationship with this English teacher and a young 21 year old Tasha. It's fairly rare and I liked that sort of big sister dynamic between them. I would like to see more of them together! The writing was good. It was humorous when it needed to be, I loved the little pop culture references with FMA, and all of the great innuendos. Spent reads very easily and smoothly. The descriptions are really and vivid, whether did be a boxing match, a saucy scene, or even Twizzlers. It was fantastic.

The story itself was simple but interesting enough. I like the University setting and all the scenes with the fighting matches.

The romance was so steamy and great. I love the contrast between Luke's love scenes and Derricks. I love how one can definitely see how conditioned Tasha is to being abused and neglected and now happy she is to have Luke. I need more please!

Entertainment for Women, Research for Men

I've been reading books like these for a better insight into the female psychology. Any guy should read books like this if he wants to improve his women's sex lives, thereby improving his own. I enjoyed this book much more than 50 Shades of Gray, simply because the dialogue was much better.

Anyway, for me: pick up this book and read it like you're doing research. I also recommend the Sex God Method for a nonfiction version of books like this.
